Minecraft server status checker
Is a server online? Players, version, MOTD, icon and response time, for Java and Bedrock.
How to use it
- Type the server's address, the one players use. A port goes after a colon: play.example.com:25566.
- Pick Java or Bedrock.
- Press Check server. We ask the server for its status the same way the game does, and show its answer.
Questions and answers
Why does my server show as offline when I can join it?
Most of the time the address or port is not the one players outside your home use, or a firewall lets you in but blocks checks from the internet. Check the port, and that enable-status is on in server.properties.
Does it work for Bedrock servers?
Yes. Pick Bedrock. Bedrock servers answer on UDP, usually on port 19132. Bedrock servers have no server icon, so none is shown.
Does it follow SRV records?
Yes, for Java servers on the default port (25565) it follows the _minecraft._tcp SRV record, like the game does. Bedrock has no SRV records.
Do you save the address I check?
No. The address is used for the check and then forgotten. Only a scrambled counter of how many checks your connection made is kept for a short time, against floods.
How often can I check?
Up to 10 checks a minute and 60 an hour from one connection. The answer for the same address is reused for 30 seconds.
