Vote rewards with Votifier
Set up NuVotifier so players get a reward in the game when they vote for your server — and fix it when votes don't arrive.
When someone votes for your server, CraftVote can tell your server who voted. A plugin on your server then gives that player a reward. The part that receives the vote is called Votifier.
Set it up
- Install the NuVotifier plugin on your server (on BungeeCord / Velocity: on the proxy) and a plugin that gives rewards for votes. Restart the server.
- Open NuVotifier's port for incoming connections at your host or in your firewall. The default is 8192 — it is a different port from the one players join on.
- On CraftVote open My servers → your server, and find the card Votifier — vote rewards.
- Choose NuVotifier (token). Type the address and port, and paste the token. You find the token in plugins/NuVotifier/config.yml, on the “default” line under “tokens”.
- Leave Send votes to my server ticked and save.
- Press Send a test vote with your own Minecraft name. The card tells you what your server answered — and you should get the reward in the game.
Never post your token in public or send it to us — we don't need it. On CraftVote it is kept secret and never shown again (only its last 4 characters).
When the test vote fails
- What the test says: The port is closed, or nothing answers
- What to do: Open the Votifier port (default 8192) at your host. Check that the address is the machine NuVotifier runs on — with a proxy, that is the proxy.
- What the test says: The token doesn't match
- What to do: Copy the token again from plugins/NuVotifier/config.yml and save it on the card. A token changes when you delete the config file.
- What the test says: An answer we couldn't read
- What to do: The port belongs to something else (often the game itself). Use the port from NuVotifier's config.yml.
- What the test says: Your server runs the old Votifier
- What to do: Choose Votifier v1 (public key) on the card and paste the content of plugins/Votifier/rsa/public.key (NuVotifier: plugins/NuVotifier/rsa/public.key).
- What the test says: Your server didn't confirm the vote
- What to do: Look at the server's console: if no vote from CraftVote shows there, check the token and the port again.
- What the test says: Accepted, but no reward in the game
- What to do: The vote arrived. The reward is given by your reward plugin — check its settings and the server's console.
Real votes
- A vote is sent to your server within a second or two. The name of the voting site in the vote is CraftVote.
- If your server is down, we try again after 1, 5, 15, 60 and 180 minutes. After that the vote is marked as failed (it still counts for the ranking).
- Vote deliveries on your server's page shows the latest votes and tests, and the reason when one failed.
- Votes made while Send votes to my server is off are never sent later.
