CraftVote

My server is shown as offline or hidden

How CraftVote checks servers, why a check can fail although players can join, and what the uptime rule does.

We check every listed server about every 1 minute, the same way the server list in the Minecraft game does. The result is what visitors see: online or offline, players, version.

Offline on CraftVote, but players can join

  • enable-status must be true in server.properties. With it off the server hides from every server list.
  • The address or port on your listing is not the one that answers. Fix it under My servers → your server → Edit details.
  • A firewall or DDoS protection blocks server-list pings from other countries or from data centres. Allow status pings.
  • The server was restarting at the moment of the check. The next check fixes it.

Your server's page shows why the last check failed. After you changed something, press Check now — no need to wait for the next check.

When your server fails every check for 24 hours, we send you one email about it. You can switch that off per server under Email alerts on its page.

Hidden for low uptime

Visitors should find servers they can join. So a server that has been listed for more than 7 days and was online less than 25% of the last 30 days gets a warning by email. If its uptime is still too low 7 days later, it is hidden from the list.

Nothing is lost: the listing, its votes and its settings stay, and we keep checking it. It comes back on the list by itself as soon as its uptime is above the minimum again.

Hidden or removed by our team

When our team hides a listing, your server's page shows the reason. Fix what it says and tell us through Contact, or write to [email protected] if you think it was a mistake.

Didn't find it?
